About this file
The document is an Annual Crane Reports Summary of Work for Sarasota County Public Utilities, detailing inspection findings for four overhead cranes located at two water treatment plants in Sarasota, Florida: Carlton WTP and Venice Gardens WTP. The report systematically examines multiple crane systems including safety, electrical, pendant controls, hoist, trolley, bridge, and rail runway systems, identifying specific maintenance and repair needs for each crane. Identified issues include broken mounting clips, dirty electrical systems, dry-rotted pendant cords, gear assembly lubrication requirements, brake system inspections, and wire rope condition assessments.
The inspection reports recommend comprehensive preventative maintenance and load testing in accordance with OSHA and ASME standards for each crane. Specific repair actions include replacing festoon trolleys, installing green covers on ground conductor bars, correcting rail splice plate installations, lubricating wire ropes, replacing missing brake components, and repairing pendant stations with broken screws. These findings appear to be preparatory documentation for a maintenance and repair contract solicitation, providing detailed technical insights into the current condition of the overhead crane infrastructure at the county's water treatment facilities.
