1 N/A (For Automatic Sliding Door)
As for the estimated amount from our company and the service proposal for the estimated amount, in the event of a failure of the automatic door, are we able propose to replace the entire motor unit and control unit (replace the main mechanism itself) with that guarantees safety? (*Conversely, NABCO's products are not supplied to other companies in the same industry, so the principle of competitive bidding does not work.) As a precaution, the automatic door mechanism will be remodeled to the product of our partner manufacturer (Nakanihon Auto Door Co., Ltd.).
Yes, the services provided here in are considered as a commercial item service in accordance with
FAR 2.101.
2 N/A (For Automatic Sliding Door)
It will be time to update the engine body in about 7~10 years. Many existing automatic doors are past the renewal period. Is it possible to propose replacement of new (Non‐Recurring / IDIQ or voluntary contract with Fund due to the customer's negligence) with the product of our partner manufacturer (Nakanihon Auto Door Co., Ltd.)?
Yes, please see Spec Item 2.14.2, Notification to the Government for Work Above the Recurring Work Limitations.
3 N/A (For Automatic Sliding Door)
After checking the solicitation and SOW provided, there is no indication of the frequency of Sliding Door inspections or the content of inspections. As an interpretation, since there is no statutory inspection itself for automatic doors, is it okay for a licensed inspection contractor to propose the frequency of inspection and inspection contents in a way that ensures safety?
Please see Spec Item 3.2.2 Automatic Sliding Doors, Related Information: The Contractor shall maintain automatic sliding doors in accordance with manufacturer’s standards.
4 N/A (For Automatic Sliding Door)
If there is a problem with the sash, fittings, glass, or locks associated with the automatic door, can we consider it as a new proposal (Non‐Recurrent / IDIQ or a voluntary contract with the Fund due to the customer's negligence)?
Yes, if the work exceeds the Recurring Work (Emergency, Urgent, and Routine Service Orders limitations) as stated in Spec Item 3 thru 3.1.3. Please see Spec Item 2.14.2, Notification to the Government for Work Above the Recurring Work Limitations.
5 N/A (For Automatic Sliding Door)
Is it okay to understand that it is a full maintenance contract? In that case, how much should the contractor compensate?
Is it correct to consider repairs or maintenance in excess of the amount to be compensated as a new proposal (Non‐ Recurrent / IDIQ or a voluntary contract with the Fund due to the customer's negligence)?
Yes, please see Spec Item 3.2 Preventive Maintenance (PM) Program, Related Information:
The Contractor is fully responsible for and shall perform any repairs, including replacement, discovered during scheduled maintenance work up to a total of ¥300,000 for VTE, ¥100,000 for Automatic Sliding Doors and ¥100,000 for Automatic Overhead Doors per occurrence in direct material and labor cost under the recurring work portion of the contract.
Incidental repairs work performed under maintenance are not considered a service order. Please see Spec Item 2.14.2, Notification to the Government for Work Above the Recurring Work Limitations.
6 N/A (For VTE) When we checked the solicitation and SOW you provided, we confirmed a description of the periodic inspection cycle and inspection contents. There are very few technicians who have ASME licenses for private elevator inspection companies. In the case of Yokosuka, there is a PW‐5 department in NAVFAC Yokosuka that has completed the ASME standard training, and the inspector attends the necessary inspections to clear the ASME standards and ensure safety.
Are we able to apply the same method for thie case?
Please see Spec Item 2.2.1, Certification, Training, and Licensing and Spec Item 3.3.1, Vertical Transportation Equipment (VTE).
7 N/A (For VTE) Regarding the design of the elevator (aging deterioration of the appearance and interior (including push buttons), difficulty in seeing button numbers, mischief by end users, and dents in the appearance (due to external factors), is it correct to consider it as a proposal as a new (non‐recurring / IDIQ or voluntary contract with the fund due to the customer's negligence)?
Yes, if the work exceeds the Recurring Work (Emergency, Urgent, and Routine Service Orders limitations) as stated in Spec Item 3 thru 3.1.3. Please see Spec Item 2.14.2, Notification to the Government for Work Above the Recurring Work Limitations.
