About this file

This file is a Feature Work Table from a mine closure project, specifically Appendix 1 of Item 4.0 from the Dream Canyon project scope of work. The document details 19 individual mine opening closures (Features 363-GF002 through GF017 and W-1) that require closure using various methods including machine backfill, rock bulkheads, grated closures with bat cupolas, and polyurethane foam plugs. The mine openings consist of shafts, stopes, and adits with depths ranging from 5 feet to 100 feet, and the project includes specific environmental controls such as bat exclusion protocols, biodegradable waddles for sediment control, and debris management. Each feature is identified by its location coordinates in UTM (NAD83) format and includes detailed specifications for excavation extent, closure method, required materials (such as common fill, corrugated steel pipe, steel beams, and polyurethane foam), and construction procedures.

The work description and notes for each feature provide comprehensive instructions for contractors, including material quantities (ranging from 50 cubic yards of imported fill to 18 cubic yards of polyurethane foam for specific features), specialized closure components (bat ladders, bat cupolas, grates, and drainpipes), and site-specific considerations such as precautions for features located above Highway 119 and management of mature trees. Storm water sediment control measures are mandated for all features, with requirements for 25 linear feet of biodegradable waddles installed on the downstream side of working areas under project manager direction. The project references general bid specifications sections 2, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, and 14, along with standard drawings and attachments for grated shaft closures, bat cupola specifications, rock bulkhead construction, and corrugated steel pipe installation.
