About this file
The document is a set of resurfacing and striping project plans prepared by the Walton County Surveying & Engineering Departments for DeFuniak Street (County Road 283 South) located in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. The project involves resurfacing approximately 27.73 station lengths of roadway from County Road 30-A to Hotz Avenue, with work including preparing the existing asphalt surface, applying a tack coat, constructing a 1-inch overbuild layer, and installing final striping and markings in accordance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).
The project plans include detailed striping details using thermoplastic markings, including white and yellow lines, pedestrian crossing symbols, and specific placement guidelines for roadway striping. The project is designed to maintain the existing road configuration with minimal erosion control measures required. The plans are dated March 2024, with design and approval by Brandon C. Powell, P.E. (Florida Professional Engineer #60818), and indicate the work will be performed within the approximate right-of-way of DeFuniak Street, passing through intersections with Lydia Avenue and Magnolia Street.
