SALMON CREEK RECONSTRUCTION NOTES: ASPHALT NOTES

General Notes:

1. These notes are to be used in conjunction with all Specifications and the Drawings. The Specifications take precedence over these notes.

2. All new asphalt shall conform to the widths of the existing asphalt surface.

3. Asphalt patch all potholes that are over 2” in depth in the sections where existing asphalt is to be used as base.

4. Clean and Tack-coat all sections where new asphalt is placed on existing asphalt with SS1H Tack Coat or equivalent.

5. Sections recently paved in good condition: Use a 1.5” overlay on recent sections in good condition with no cracks as designated by the Engineer.

6. Sections where existing asphalt can be used as sub-base: Use 3”overlay over old roadbed where the old asphalt is good enough to use as the sub-base needing only to fill the potholes prior to paving.

7. Sections to be totally reconditioned: Use 3” overlay on top of totally reconditioned sub-base sections. Rip up existing roadbed. Pulverized asphalt may be used with ¾” crushed aggregate as compacted base material. Reconstructed sections shall be out- sloped at 2% to the west (creek side) of the road. Sections shall be approved in writing by the engineer prior to paving.

8. All prep work such as grinding and relaying, pothole patching etc. shall be completed and approved by the engineer in writing before new paving starts.

28+50 Intersection with end loop. Continue 3” overlay using existing asphalt as base. Average width 24’.

28+66 End of Stationing at centerline. End paving once the intersection is reached and the end loop is complete.

OPTION: First Loop Overlay (DRAWINGS: OPTION: Paving, Culvert and Ditch Reconstruction Section 1)

0+00 Intersection Loop 1 (See Loop 1 notes below. STA 1+75 = STA 0+00 of Loop 1) No work required.

0+70 Begin 3” overlay using existing asphalt as base; fill potholes. Average width 10’.

12+50 End 3” overlay at intersection of Loop 1 with main road.

SALMON CREEK RECONSTRUCTION NOTES: DITCH AND WATERLINE RECONSTRUCTION NOTES

1. Ditch reconstruction is on the east side of the roadway and work to be completed is designated by the centerline stationing. Roadside ditch reconstruction shall be in conjunction with culvert installation.

2. These notes are to be used in conjunction with all Specifications and the Drawings. The Specifications take precedence over these notes.

Ditch and Waterline Reconstruction Notes:

Main Campground Road

5+00Begin roadside ditch reconstruction. Old 2 inch cast iron water pipe may be encountered in roadside ditch. Remove when possible or as needed to install new 2 inch HDPE waterline at a minimum of 1 foot below the bottom of reconstructed ditch. Remove all rocks, brush and trees within ditch.
5+25Install 24”X 48’ length C.M.P. Continue to clean, reconstruct ditch and install new water pipe to meet new culvert inlets. See Culvert Installation Reconstruction Notes for details.
11+50Continue roadside ditch reconstruction, cleaning and new water pipe installation. Heavy construction with rocks, brush, trees and water pipe in ditch.
12+22Install 35” X 24” Squash pipe, 30’ length. Continue to clean, reconstruct ditch and install new water pipe to meet new culvert inlets. See Culvert Installation Reconstruction Notes for details.
14+20Install (2) 42” X 29” squash pipe, each 30’ in length. Continue to clean, reconstruct ditch and install new water pipe to meet new culvert inlets. See Culvert Installation Reconstruction Notes for details. Major pipe inlet basin filled in with aggregates and needs to be reconstructed. Ditch entering from both sides. Continue roadside ditch reconstruction and new water pipe installation. Heavy construction with rocks, brush, trees and waterline in ditch.
