A. All pipe of a given type, material, and size shall be the product of a single manufacturer.
2.02 materials
A. Pressure Pipe and Fittings (Water).
1. Pressure water and sewer pipe and fittings shall conform to the following unless otherwise noted on the Drawings:
a. Polyethylene (PE).
1) AWWA C901, minimum 160 psi pressure class, IDR less than or equal to 7.
2) Fittings, metal insert and two stainless steel clamps; for over 1-1/2 inch, special, heavy duty tightening clamps.
b. Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC).
1) 4 inch and larger AWWA C900, Pressure Class 200 PSI

4) Fittings, ASTM D2466, Schedule 40, or ASTM D2467, Schedule 80.
B. Drainage Systems.
1. Non-Perforated Sections.
a. Use gravity sewer pipe as specified above or styrene rubber plastic, ASTM D2852, or smoothwall polyethylene, ASTM F810.
2. Perforated Pipe Sections.
a. Pipe used in Subsurface Disposal Systems to be State approved.
1) Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC): ASTM D2729, 4 inch pipe.
2) Corrugated Polyethylene: ASTM F405, heavy duty, for 3 to 6 inch pipe; ASTM F667 for 8 to 15 inch pipe.
3) Smoothwall polyethylene: ASTM F810.
3. Joints for Perforated Pipe.
a. Bell and spigot joints, couplings, or other means of preventing displacement of pipe joints.
C. Joints Between Dissimilar Materials.
1. Use flanges or couplings manufactured specifically for the types of pipe being joined and having a minimum pressure rating, or pressure class (as applicable) equal to or greater than the lower pressure rating or class of the pipes being joined.
2. For metallic to plastic pipe connections, use Schedule 40 PVC male adaptor and threaded metallic coupling fittings. Do not thread plastic pipe.
D. Bushings.
1. Where reducing fittings are shown on the Drawings, bushings may be used if space is not available and if approved by the COR.
