Window Survey Mark Twain National Forest, Ranger Station
Ava, Missouri
The Ava Ranger Station has four stone buildings.
The Warehouse has/had three wooden gable windows. Two of three are original 9-light, wood sash are top hinged. #1 & #3 show the original 9-light sash which are repairable. Sash #2 is missing and should be replaced with top hinged sashes to match the design of #1. The ground floor Warehouse window openings are made up of two 6-light wooden sashes that are opened by sliding them horizontally in a wood track. All of these openings are repairable with some minor wood track repairs and all the other specifications applied to the double hung window specifications. The Marvin “Wood Combination Window” storm is installed vertically as if attached over a normal double hung window.
