Funded by the Department of
Defense and local funding partners, Montana PTACs provide government contracting assistance to small businesses throughout the state.
PTACs offer a variety of services - at little or no charge -that help businesses compete in the federal, state and local marketplaces and help government buyers meet their purchasing goals.
PTACs provide individual counseling, procurement information, workshops and other resources that can help businesses… determine contracting potential;
complete necessary registrations and certifications;
locate contracting opportunities;
review and complete bid packages.

Identify the codes that apply to your industry, products and/or services.
Federal Supply Class or Service
Codes (FSC/FSS) are required to do business with the Department of Defense (DoD). Learn about them at:

North American Industry Classifi-cation System (NAICS) codes are used to collect, analyze and publicize business statistics in the
U.S., Canada and Mexico. To find
NAICS codes for your business, visit the following Web site:

Standard Industrial Classification
(SIC) codes are used by govern-ment agencies to identify an establishment’s primary business.

Register in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. Registration is mandatory for doing business with the government. Before you complete the CCR online, review the CCR Users’ Guide located under the Help menu on the CCR registration Web site.
Register at https://www.bpn.gov/ccr.
Register in the On-line Representations and
Certifications (ORCA) database. ORCA replaces most of the paper-based “Reps and
Certs” previously included in solicitations.

CCR User ID
CCR Password (Eight to 15 characters including at least one upper case letter, one lower case letter, one number, and one special character (i.e., @, #, $, %, *). You must change your password every 60 days.)
MPIN (Marketing Partner Identification Number) (A code you create in CCR that is shared with other online databases such as ORCA)
