About this file
This is Addendum Three to Invitation to Bid No. RFB-266-25 issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky Department for Facilities and Support Services, Division of Engineering and Contract Administration, for maintenance facility renovations at the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) facility in Madisonville, Kentucky. The project involves interior fit-up work including metal liner panels, formed metal wall panels, painting, windows, doors, lockers, canopy systems, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and miscellaneous interior finishes. The addendum modifies specifications and drawings by adding Section 07 42 13.13 for Formed Metal Wall Panels, reissuing Sheets A101, A103, and A104 to reflect metal liner panel extents and details as part of the base bid, replacing Section 09 91 00 for Painting to match Phase 1 paint selections, and updating the specification table of contents. The official bid opening has been moved to July 1, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. Eastern Time. Metal locker specifications have been updated to include Republic Storage Company as the basis-of-design product with comparable alternatives from ArtMetal Products, DeBourgh Manufacturing, List Industries, Lyon Workspace Products, Penco Products, Scranton Products, and LockersMFG. Paint selections are based on Sherwin Williams products or comparable alternatives from Benjamin Moore, Coronado Paint, Porter Paints, PPG Architectural Finishes, and Farrell-Calhoun, with specific attention to interior and exterior latex systems, alkyd paints, and high-performance epoxy coatings.
The addendum specifies technical requirements for metal liner panels including 26-gauge metallic-coated steel with siliconized polyester finish in colors selected by the architect, 12-inch on-center major rib spacing, 36-inch panel coverage, and 1.25-inch panel height matching existing conditions. Painting specifications detail multiple primer and topcoat systems for concrete, steel, galvanized metal, wood, and gypsum board substrates, with minimum film thickness requirements and application standards complying with manufacturer recommendations and MPI Architectural Painting Specification Manual guidelines. The project includes provisions for exterior satin and semigloss latex finishes, interior flat and eggshell latex options, and specialized high-performance epoxy and acrylic coatings for traffic surfaces and mechanical equipment. All work must comply with current applicable Kentucky Building Codes and other state and local codes including the National Electrical Code and BOCA Mechanical Code. Items unclear regarding design intent must be brought to the owner's attention prior to bid for written clarification.
