About this file

This is Addendum No. 1, issued March 6, 2023, to the City of Young Harris, Georgia's Invitation to Bid for the Timberline Booster Pump Station Replacement Project. The project encompasses replacement of a water line and booster pump station, including installation of two Grundfos Hydro Multi-E CRE 10-10 60Hz booster pumps and replacement of approximately 2,540 linear feet of existing PVC water line with 6-inch diameter class 305 PVC or 6-inch diameter class 350 ductile iron pipe. Construction work includes excavation, grading, on-site construction of a new single-story pump building, site concrete paving, asphalt access driveway, finish grading, erosion control, and associated utility work including trenching, backfilling, testing, decontamination, and replacement of valves, meters, and curb stops. Sealed bids were due Friday, March 31, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. local time at City Hall, 50 Irene Berry Drive, Young Harris, Georgia 30582.

The addendum provides critical clarifications to the original bid documents. The City will not construct the pump building under a separate contract as originally stated in the engineering plans; rather, construction of the pump building is part of this contract and bidders must include allowances for that work. No bid bond is required; however, performance and payment bonds are mandatory. Bidders must base their bids on the pump model specified in the engineering plans. The City has no preference regarding pump building wall construction materials (cement block or poured cement) or water pipe materials (PVC or ductile iron), provided bidders ensure adequate and immediately available supply. Failure to acknowledge receipt of the addendum may result in bid rejection.

ADDENDUM #1

Issue Date: March 6, 2023

TIMBERLINE BOOSTER PUMP STATION REPLACEMENT PROJECT

1. CLARIFICATION OF PROJECT SCOPE

A. Page C-02 of the Engineering plans contains a note stating that the city will construct the pump building under a separate contract. That is incorrect. Construction of the pump building is part of this contract and bidders should include allowances for that work in their bids.

B. No bid bond will be required. However, performance and payment bonds will be required.

C. A question was asked if the City would consider installation of a different booster pump than that specified in the plans. Please submit your bid based on the pump model specified in the Engineering plans.

D. The Engineering plans allow for either cement block or poured cement walls for the pump building. The City has no preference on either method, except that the bidder should ensure that they have an adequate and immediately available supply of material.

E. The Engineering plans allow for either PVC or ductile iron water pipes.

The City has no preference between the two materials, except that the bidder should ensure that they have an adequate and immediately available supply.

Failure to acknowledge the receipt for the addenda may result in rejection of the bid.

Reminder: Bid Submittal Deadline – Friday, March 31st, 2023 at 3:00pm.
