Marion County Seven Bridges Maintenance and Repairs

Addendum 9

Question 1 - Due to limited headroom, in lieu of driving the timber pile for the straddle bent repairs would it be acceptable to install the new timber pile as shown in Exhibit A in a cast-in-place footing to achieve the required 20 ton bearing capacity?

Answer 1 - The answer is no. We have never had a case where this was necessary. They should be able to shift minimally to the left or right of the decayed pile in question to get the needed headroom.
