About this file
This Addendum #2 to Request for Information (RFI) #RFI-2025-1021 is issued by the School Board of Volusia County, Florida for Fire Alarm and Security Monitoring Software. The RFI seeks a comprehensive software solution for centralized security and fire alarm monitoring across the district's facilities, with responses due on April 18, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. EST. The document provides detailed responses to 14 vendor questions covering system capabilities, current infrastructure, and integration requirements, including details about existing systems such as DMP alarm receivers, Meraki video systems, and Schlage door locks. The current central station software is Microkey, and the district is exploring new solutions that can enhance safety and security management across its educational facilities.
The RFI indicates the district currently uses multiple fire alarm systems from manufacturers like Notifier, EST, and Silent Knight, with DMP used for monitoring. The desired software solution aims to integrate various security systems into a centralized platform, providing real-time monitoring, automated alerts, and emergency communication tools. The district will provide servers and workstations meeting minimum specifications and has two DMP SCS-1R alarm receivers for redundancy. While no specific budget is mentioned, the solution must support a district with over 61,400 students and 7,750 employees, requiring a scalable and adaptable system that can enhance overall safety management across 45 elementary schools, 12 middle schools, 9 high schools, 11 alternative education sites, 7 charter schools, and 3 administrative complexes.

This software integrates various security systems, including fire alarms, surveillance cameras, access control, and emergency communication tools, into a centralized platform. By doing so, it allows for real-time monitoring and quick response to incidents, ensuring that any potential threats or emergencies are promptly addressed. Additionally, the software can automate alerts and notifications to relevant personnel, streamline evacuation procedures, and provide detailed reports for post-incident analysis. Overall, its intended use is to create a safer and more secure environment, minimizing risks and improving the overall safety management within the school district.
12. Questions:
What manufacturer and model is planned upon?
Answer: No change as it relates to the current DMP system.
Are you planning on redundancy for the Alarm Receiver as this is a critical system of a Central Station?
Answer: We have two DMP SCS-1R
13. Question: The DMP XR 550 mentions no standard for communication to Central Station, what is intended to be provided/equipped at panel level and for programming the Central Station?
Answer: The standard for communication to Central Station is dependent upon the manufacturer.
14. Question: Our company is reviewing solutions for the RFI request. We understand that the intrusion panels are primarily DMP. Could you clarify the status of the Fire Alarm systems? Are they also DMP, or are there existing systems from other manufacturers? Additionally, will this bid include the installation of new Fire Alarm systems that must be compatible with the new software?
Answer: Currently DMP is only used for Monitoring. Our installed Fire Alarm systems include Notifier, EST, and Silent Knight. Fire Alarm system replacement Is not included with this. Systems are routinely upgraded when needed.
