About this file

This document is an Addendum 2 issued by the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) for a window supply and installation project located at 115-29 217th Street in Cambria Heights, NY. The solicitation was released on 04/15/2025, with bids due by 06/09/2025, and involves the supply and installation of Andersen 100 Series single-hung windows. The addendum addresses multiple technical and procedural questions from potential contractors following a site visit, clarifying key project specifications such as measurement verification, window installation requirements, and material submission processes.

The addendum provides critical details for bidders, including confirmation that contractors are responsible for verifying measurements, installing vapor barriers per NYS Building Code, and submitting material samples for approval. The project has a 14-day completion window, and while Andersen windows may have 6-12 week lead times, the agency indicates this is not considered a scheduling issue. Material specifications include air-tight window installations with all necessary capping and trim, and the color of windows is to be chosen. A punch list walk-through is mandatory after project completion, and the winning contractor will need to discuss specific trim material details with the OPWDD project team.

Addendum 2

Supply & Install Windows 115-29 217th Street Cambria Heights, NY 11411

Solicitation Date: 04/15/2025 Bid Due Date: 06/09/2025 Date of update: 05/12/2025

Good afternoon, Please see below questions that was sent to the Brooklyn Business Office after the site-visit. We forwarded them to our Bernard Fineson’s PSES Team. Please review both the questions and answers:

1. Are shop drawings or submittals required for any part of the scope (e.g., windows or trim)? Nope

2. Will contract drawings (window schedule, elevations, or cut sheets) be provided to confirm dimensions and installation details? No…. On the SOW clearly if the contractor can read says… contractor to verify all actual measurements ETC…

3. If no drawings are issued, who is responsible for verifying and coordinating exact window sizes prior to ordering? Contractor AS per SOW…

4. Are flashing trim details required around all windows—both head and sill? SOW, All window to be air tight, all capping and trim in and out to be included.

5. Is the contractor required to install any air/vapor barrier (AVB), waterproofing membranes, or insulation behind or around the new windows? All new window jobs need a vapor barrier up to the sill AS per NYS Building code.

6. Will material submittals (window model, capping, trim, caulking, etc.) be required before approval to proceed? Yes, you can’t just get your own.

7. Are physical samples (window color, trim finish, capping type) required for review prior to fabrication? ANDERSON 100 SERIES MENTIONED 10 TIMES SISNGLE HUNG, Color to be chosen.

8. Can we confirm if all molding and interior trim should be standard pine, MDF, or a specific material? Will discuss with winner.

9. Where is the designated on-site staging or storage area for deliveries and tools? None as in the SOW, this is very interesting questions as it right there and I mentioned it the other day 10 times.

10. Given that Andersen 100 Series windows may have 6–12-week lead times, is there any flexibility in the 14-day completion window if delays are documented? That is not an issue.

11. Will a punch list walk-through be scheduled at project end, and who signs off—Plant Superintendent or another designated rep? Punch list is always required after I check a job, first get the job, who signs off does not affect your bid. Thank you.

Please be sure to include this information in your estimates.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely, Maria L. Suarez NYS OPWDD Brooklyn DDSO-Business Office 750 Vandalia Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11239
