About this file
Addendum No. 2 for IFB 2501301 is issued by the City of Leesburg for the Construction of Venetian Cove Marina Facility, providing clarifications and responses to 38 bidder questions. The addendum addresses various technical and procedural inquiries regarding the marina office building project, including specifics about electrical systems, door specifications, concrete work, interior finishes, and scope limitations. Key clarifications include confirming that dock utilities are not part of the office building scope, permitting fees will be reimbursed by the city, and certain elements like temporary marina office and restrooms should be priced as add-alternates.
The document reveals the city's preference for cost-effective solutions and flexibility in material selections, with approvals required from the architect/engineer for alternative products. Notable specifications include using smooth drywall finishes, SYP #1 Select or D & Better wood for exterior ceilings, solid plastic toilet partitions, and painting exposed steel members to match wall surfaces. The addendum emphasizes that landscaping will primarily involve returning the marina area to its pre-existing appearance, and confirms a 6-inch thickness for interior concrete slabs and exterior sidewalks. Bidders are instructed to reference the Leesburg Aquatic Center for exterior aesthetic guidance and are given latitude to propose solutions that meet the project's nautical vision while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
