About this file
The document is an Addendum issued by Jackson County, Georgia regarding Invitation to Bid (ITB) 250006 for the replacement of the cooling tower at the Jackson County Courthouse. The addendum provides clarification on the project scope, which specifies that the work must be completed over the Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, beginning after business hours on Thursday, January 16, 2025, and be finished by 5:00 PM on Monday, January 20, 2025. It also clarifies that the existing and new cooling tower is 400 tons, not 500 tons as previously stated. The addendum addresses several vendor questions, including the need to replace the VFD cables and whether the VFDs themselves need replacement (they do not).
The related state and local contract opportunity is for the Jackson County Courthouse Cooling Tower Replacement project. Jackson County is requesting bids for the replacement and construction of the cooling tower located at the Jackson County Courthouse, with a bid submission deadline of 10:00 am on October 29, 2024. A pre-bid meeting will be held on October 10, 2024, and questions must be submitted by October 15, 2024. The county reserves the right to reject any and all proposals.

RE: Addendum 1 to Jackson County ITB 250006, Jackson County Courthouse Cooling Tower Replacement
1. Addendum 1 is hereby issued to provide clarification and feedback to potential vendors on questions submitted through the question deadline.
a. List of questions and inquiries received from vendors through the question deadline are stated below in #2.
b. Responses from Project Engineer are attached.
2. Submitted Questions/Inquiries from vendors:
Clarification: Throughout the ITB 250006 where it states ‘The scope of work shall be performed during a 4-calendar day period’, Addendum 1 clarifies that the scope of work should specifically be completed over MLK Weekend, beginning with access to the contractor after business hours on Thursday, January 16, 2025 and be completed by 5:00 PM on Monday, January 20, 2025.
Clarification: The existing and new cooling tower is 400 tons. Disregard any reference in Specifications and CD’s to 500 tons.
Question: Drawing sheet M-1, “Keynotes – New Work”, note 7 states that the VFD cables from the VFDs to the new disconnects needs to be replaced. With the VFDs already being upgraded and replaced does this scope of work need to happen?
i. Response: Provide new wiring. Owner preference is to replace existing wiring with new.
Question: Please confirm thru addenda that no VFD replacement is needed, per pre-bid conference.
i. Response: Both Cooling Tower VFD’s have recently been replaced and therefore the actual VFD’s do not need replacement.
3. All other terms and conditions in ITB 250006 remain unchanged.
