About this file

This Addendum No. 1 document, issued by the West Virginia Department of Administration Purchasing Division, modifies a Centralized Request for Quote (CRFQ) solicitation for construction renovation services at Camp Dawson, a West Virginia Army National Guard facility in Kingwood, West Virginia. The project involves comprehensive renovations to the Sergeant Major's Cottage, including labor, materials, and associated costs to complete the work per attached drawings and specifications. A base bid for the renovation work and an alternate bid for a crawl space access door and concrete porch slab are requested. The mandatory pre-bid meeting was held on August 26, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. EST, with vendor technical questions due by September 2, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. EST. The solicitation closes on September 9, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. EST. The addendum provides pre-bid sign-in sheets, responses to vendor technical questions addressing clarifications on ceiling fans, fire alarm devices, and other specifications, and modifications to contract documents including new specification sections for foamed-in-place insulation, door hardware, and high-volume low-speed fans. The addendum also includes revised utility plans and details, updated door hardware schedules with eleven hardware groups for various door types, and a door index identifying specific hardware requirements for each door opening.

The addendum clarifies that all provisions of the solicitation not modified shall remain in full force and effect, and vendors must acknowledge receipt of all addenda to avoid bid disqualification. Key clarifications address the provision of nine ceiling fans (seven new fans with one per bedroom and two replacement fans in the living room), retention and reuse of six existing fire alarm horn/strobe devices with reassessment of reinstallation requirements, and confirmation that wood ceiling work is excluded from scope. Specification modifications include deletion of metal fabrication and pipe railing sections, addition of foamed-in-place insulation with closed-cell spray polyurethane foam meeting ASTM C1029 standards, comprehensive door hardware specifications referencing ANSI/BHMA standards with manufacturer selections from suppliers including Ives, Schlage, Von Duprin, and LCN, and high-volume low-speed ceiling fan requirements for 52-inch fans with LED lighting. The construction documents package includes detailed utility plans, electrical and mechanical control diagrams, and hardware specifications totaling multiple pages of technical requirements and installation standards.
