2.0 Background: The HVAC unit for Chamber B at the EMI E3 Facility needs replaced. The unit is +20 years old and no longer provides dehumidification, is partially operational and does not provide sustained heating or cooling. The anechoic absorber materials inside the chamber have become saturated and has washed the fire retardant from them. This has also degraded the RF performance of the anechoic, which will need to be replaced. And the chamber must be capable of maintaining correct humidity before anechoic is replaced.
2.1 Objective: The objective of the requirement is for the contractor to remove existing HVAC system and to provide/install new HVAC system with propane heat and a holding tank. To maintained conditioned air in Chamber B at the EMI Facility. The system is to be controlled such that temperature & humidity levels are maintained throughout the year, during multiple modes of HVAC venting operations.
2.2 Description of Requirement: Replace the existing HVAC system with a comparable unit and is to be operational, integrated into existing duct work/wiring. The new unit is to utilize a propane gas-fired heater. A new control system with operator interface panel shall be included and programed to match existing system modes of operations.
