About this file

This document is an Ordering Data Sheet for a nine-nuclide gamma calibration source in the form of a 250 ml solid epoxy matrix. The key details are:

The source contains a mixture of Cd-109, Co-57, Te-123m, Cr-51, Sn 113, Sr-85, Cs-137, Y-88, and Co-60 nuclides, with activity ratios selected to provide similar count rates on typical high-purity germanium detectors. The total source activity shall be 3.0 microcuries (-15%, +0%) and the vendor must ensure the source activity does not exceed exempt quantity per 10 CFR 30. A Certificate of Calibration with NIST traceability, nuclide activities, and other technical details is required. The source must be shipped by the vendor to the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, WA, with prior notification to the specified point of contact.

The related federal contract opportunity is a Pre-Solicitation for a Gamma Radioactive Source, to be procured by the Naval Sea Systems Command as a 100% Small Business set-aside. The solicitation will be posted to SAM.gov on or about August 13, 2024, with quotes due by August 23, 2024. The anticipated contract type is a commercial, Firm Fixed-price Supply Contract.
