About this file

This document is a One-Line Diagram for electrical infrastructure prepared for the NIFC RFIMS Infrastructure Demo project dated February 11, 2026. The diagram illustrates the existing electrical service configuration and required modifications, with an existing 277/480V, three-phase, 500kVA pad-mount transformer serving as the primary power source, featuring a maximum symmetrical RMS fault current of 37,590 amps at the transformer and 20,366 amps at the service entrance (DISC1).

The contractor is required to furnish and install a 30kVA, 480V single-phase to 120/240V single-phase transformer (T1) with downstream distribution via two 100-amp, 120/240V service entrance disconnects (DISC1 and DISC2) rated with 80-amp and 100-amp fuses respectively. Specific installation requirements include: providing 3/4-inch conduit with one CAT6 cable to the main building; installing a meter in a NEMA 3R enclosure; and providing a 100-amp 120/240V receptacle. All conduit and copper conductors must be sized per National Electrical Code requirements, with calculations provided for the service, panel, and equipment feeders. Contractors may substitute compressed aluminum conductors if corresponding adjustments to conduit and conductor sizes and arc-flash calculations are made. Additional requirements include engraved labels on all electrical equipment displaying available fault current values, and a coordination study with performance testing of the ground fault protection system per NEC 230.95 standards.
