1.0 OVERVIEW
1.1 Project Background & Scope:
This project includes design and construction services necessary for the repair and upgrading of six (6) existing exterior aluminum storefront doors at the Casper National Historic Trails Interpretive Center (NHTIC), located at 1501 North Poplar St, Casper, Wyoming 82601.
The subject doors are located at two locations within the facility:
1. Main entry doors on the east side of the facility (4 double doors / 8 door leafs).
2. Patio door on the south side of the facility (1 double door / 2 door leafs).
The location of these doors is shown on the Reference Floor Plan included in this SOW as Attachment A.
Left Image: Main Entry Doors as visible from the building interior.
Right Image: Patio Door as visible from the Patio.
Due to the high winds and high traffic that the NHTIC experiences, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has determined that the five (5) subject doors need new electric ADA/ABA operators, in addition to improvements to the existing weather stripping and gasketing.
The existing door operators are powered pneumatically by a compressor unit, which is located in a utility closet adjacent to the main entry doors – refer to Attachment A for more information. All doors and compressor units are served by a nearby electrical panel – located in a storage room behind the facility’s gift shop (refer to Attachment A for more information).
Refer to Attachment B for more information regarding door closer performance requirements.
