About this file

This is a Bid Bond document for the County of San Mateo, California, establishing the terms and conditions for three Job Order Contracts (JOC 2619, 2620, and 2621) related to Hazardous Materials management at various County-owned facilities. The bid bond serves as a financial guarantee that the bidder will execute a formal contract agreement if their bid is accepted. The document establishes the relationship between the Principal (bidder), the Surety (bonding company), and the Owner (County of San Mateo Board of Supervisors). The bond obligates the Principal to enter into a written contract in the Form of Agreement and to execute Performance and Payment Bonds in the forms attached to the bid documents, all in strict accordance with the contract documents provided.

The bond amount is to be specified by the Principal and Surety during the bidding process, with the bond becoming void if the bid is rejected or if the bid is accepted and the Principal properly executes all required contracts and bonds. The Surety's liability is limited to the amount stated in the bond obligation, and the Surety waives notice of any extension of time the Owner may grant for accepting the bid. The Corporate Surety must complete and provide the premium rate per thousand dollars and the total amount of premium charge for the bond. The document requires signatures from the Principal (individual or corporate) and the Surety (corporate), each with appropriate seals and attestation by authorized representatives.
