WELCOME ABOARD

The models/plans we create are as accurate as the measurements we receive/carry out.

There are times, where some areas are inaccessible and/or restricted. Due to this, some parts of the models/plans may not truly represent the real structure/area. However, all measures are taken to show the Toptracer Range integration as accurately as possible.

As per the agreement, we will install 1 camera system which consists a total of 2 individual cameras placed strategically to offer your driving range a total of 5 Toptracer Range enabled Monitor hitting bays.

Should you want to get in touch to discuss this Toptracer Range Design Pack or let us know if there are any inaccuracies in our design. Your assigned Toptracer Solution Architect is Jon Langan, who can be contacted at jon.langan@topgolf.com mailto:jon.langan@topgolf.com

Power & Data – Bay Screens

Each Toptracer Range enabled bay requires;

1 x IP65/Outdoor rated junction box which will consist of;

1 x AC Power outlet 1 x RJ45 Cat6 data outlet wired to a patch panel at the network cabinet location, as illustrated in page 4.

(All three items to be supplied, installed and terminated by Electrical/Data Contractor).

Final connections from junction box to screen will be carried out by Toptracer Range Install Technicians. Junction box must be within 8ft (Cable run) of the Screen location. Maximum Cat6 data cable length must not exceed 295ft from the data outlet to the patch panel location.

Adequate room should be left on the top of the box for excess cable tails and plug ends. There should also be enough room leftover for a low-voltage power adapter for the bay screens.

Recommended dimensions for junction box: 8” x 8” x 6”. Single large junction boxes are preferred over separate power and data outlets (even with while in use covers) to allow all cables to be hidden neatly and away from sight. An IP65 rated junction box also protects the outlets from all-weather conditions which your range my experience throughout the year.

Network Requirements

The Toptracer Range local-area-network is managed and maintained remotely by Toptracer. The site does not need to access to any

Toptracer Range hardware on site, only authorized network equipment is allowed to be connected to the Toptracer Range network. Toptracer is not liable for any malfunctions caused by the site connecting its own equipment to the Toptracer Range network.

The Toptracer Range local-area-network and the site’s own local-area-network must be isolated and treated as separate networks for security reasons. The internet connection that Toptracer Range receive should be configured for DHCP. No static external IP or particular incoming ports need to be opened.

The Toptracer Range router is equipped with a firewall and Toptracer

Range is responsible for the traffic behind said firewall. No networks between Toptracer Range and the open internet may use any IP-address from the range 10.0.0.0/8 or this will cause the Toptracer

Range VPN to have routing issues.

The Toptracer Range system depends on a variety of cloud services for system management, updates and backups. Therefore, an outgoing connection to the public internet without traffic interference from firewalls or filtering is required at the Toptracer Range server location.

The internet connection will be provided by the site in the form of 1 x RJ45 LAN cable with speed, bandwidth and stability, consisting of a minimum of 99% monthly uptime and 95% bandwidth availability as a Minimum of 10 Mbit/s Download – 10 Mbit/s Upload. Total data usage will be approx. 100GB/per month. A suitable data plan should be purchased for the duration of the Toptracer Range term.

The RJ45 Data cable for the connection between the site’s network and the Toptracer Range router, should allow 8ft in extra cable length for cable slack.

It is recommended that Factory Terminated (Pre-Terminated) data cables are used.

Tracing Zone

This illustration shows the approximate covered areas of the Toptracer Range cameras on your driving range outfield. No flags/targets should be placed on the edges of the tracing zone. Only shots inside the zone will be traced and shown in Toptracer Range enabled bays.

Light Grey Zones - (47yds to End of Range) Light grey zones are where all cameras will see the ball flight and therefore offer the best tracing. Majority of targets should be within these zones

Dark Grey Zones - (30yds to 47yds) Dark grey zone is an area where high shots cannot be guaranteed, and targets should only be placed here if necessary.

Red Zones - (Hitting Bay to 30yds) Red zones are areas where tracing cannot be guaranteed and therefore no targets should be placed here. Targets that are already there will not be included in the Toptracer Range system for outfield targets.

Please note, the tracing zone in this illustration, is based on calculations. Final tracing zone is determined once the camera pair of the system have been installed completely and calibrated.

Server and Network Equipment

270723 Toptracer - Design Pack 1.0 | 14

To operate the Toptracer Range software, Toptracer will install its server and network equipment at the driving range itself behind bay 1. A network cabinet will be supplied and installed by Toptracer. It is the sites responsibility to the keep the network cabinet clean, dry and ventilated.

The location of this cabinet can be moved provided it confirms with Toptracer technical requirements. Should there be a need to reposition it before the install please inform Toptracer. The network cabinet must always be accessible during and post install.

Based on your site requirements, Toptracer will provide a post-mounted network cabinet with dimensions of W: 24”, D: 12”, H: 35” at the driving range. A duplex power outlet is required within 1 foot of each network cabinet location.

It is strongly recommended that the contractor install proper trunking to neatly conceal all excess cables.

Generic Example

Artificial Lighting

The Toptracer Range system requires artificial lights to work properly in low lighting conditions. The artificial lighting should always be illuminated, (outside of full daylight conditions), including for a short period before dusk and after dawn conditions to facilitate a smooth transition from daylight to night-time operation, or vice versa. The light source must come from behind or be in-line with the cameras for the light to reflect off the golf ball back to the Toptracer Range cameras.

270723 Toptracer - Design Pack 1.0 | 15

The Toptracer system will require adequate lighting for the system to operate out of daylight hours. A light wall measuring an average 3 foot candle, at 55yds out and 100ft high, is required to use the system at night or during low light conditions.

The light source should never be closer than 16ft from the cameras in a horizontal direction, and never closer than 7ft in a vertical direction.

Toptracer feedback

The Toptracer Range system will require adequate lighting for the system to operate out of daylight hours. Should there be a need to use Toptracer Range at night or during low natural light conditions, please use the guidelines on this page to purchase and install the new light fixtures correctly on the driving range.

Network Cable Testing

270723 Toptracer - Design Pack 1.0 | 16

Toptracer requires a network cable report on the completion of all data cable installations, as a valid report ensures confidence in the sites’ network cable infrastructure. It also confirms all cabling has been installed in compliance to industry standards by the contractor and is a great tool to assist in troubleshooting. Conducting network cable tests after installation, provides a robust foundation for the installation of network equipment, and has proven to eliminate common install issues before hardware is installed. The network cable report must be in the form of a digital or physical document, which must be provided to Toptracer before the Toptracer Range installation commences.

At a minimum, the report must have the following information;

1) Installed cable type – (e.g. CAT6 U/FTP)

2) All tested cables – (e.g. Bay Screen 1) (Labelled correctly)

3) Individual cables length – (e.g. 55ft) (Must have unit of measure)

4) Date and time of the test

5) Wire map / termination type of cable - (e.g. T568B)

6) Performance of cables – (e.g. 1000BASE-TX)(What speed can they support)

7) Cable shielding tested and verified

Toptracer recommends Fluke Networks for all network cable testing needs. Data network reports from other manufacturers are accepted as long as they meet criteria set out above. If you cannot provide a network cable report, Toptracer Range installers can perform a network cable qualification test and this will be chargeable to the site.

A continuity tester does not test for network speeds, it does not check the length of the installed cable and most importantly, it does not generate a report. Therefore, it is not recommended to be used for testing network cables.

The type of lock purchased is at the site’s discretion but must not have a shackle diameter greater than 0.25”.

Standard key padlocks can be used, Toptracer recommends the locks should be keyed alike to allow all locks to be opened by the same key.

Please note: The locks paired with the Toptracer locking pin will enable the screens to be fixed to the mounts. Without the lock and locking pin in place, the screen is vulnerable and classified as unsecure.

Screen Security

Toptracer recommends a combination padlock, this enables the site to set a single passcode for all of their locks and there is no need to store and manage keys.

Site supplied combination lock

To secure the screens to their mounts, the site is required to source and supply a pad lock for each screen before the Toptracer Range install week.
