Specifications and Requirements RTK GNSS Receiver

1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Broward County Water and Wastewater Engineering (WWED) is requesting supply and delivery for a Skadi Gold RTK GNSS Receiver with Skadi Tilt Compensation, Smart Handle for Eos Skadi GNSS receivers, compatible tablet range pole mount for 10” sized tablets with range pole mounting hardware, and compatible range pole mount for plus sized phones or small tablets with range pole mounting hardware for accurate field data collection and asset mapping.

2. EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:

All equipment shall be NEW, original OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), and shall not be reconditioned or re-manufactured nor have been used as display products or “B” stock.

For each item being offered by the Bidder on the Bid Sheet, regardless of whether the offered item is exactly “as specified” or is a purported “equivalent,” the Bidder must be either the actual manufacturer of the item or the manufacturer’s authorized reseller/distributor of that item.

3. REQUIRED FEATURES:

Required Feature or Function Description Specification

RTK Capability

RTK stands for Real-Time Kinematic, a satellite navigation technique that enhances the accuracy of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) data, providing centimeter-level precision for applications requiring high accuracy, such as surveying and mapping.

Equivalent or better

High Accuracy (1cm HA;

2cm VA)

Centimeter-level accuracy (1 cm horizontal and 2 cm vertical).

Equivalent or better

GNSS Constellations

Supports all Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) constellations, including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou, offering high accuracy and flexibility in various field conditions.

Equivalent or better

RTK Redundancy Maintains accuracy during temporary loss of RTK signal.

Equivalent or better

Integrated Antenna

Offers ease of carrying, flexible field mounting, and a more compact, streamlined design for improved productivity.

Equivalent or better

Mobile Device Support:

iOS, Android, Windows

Device-agnostic; meaning it can be used with any iOS, Android, or Windows mobile device.

Equivalent or better

Function Description Specification

Compatibility with Esri Platform Applications including ArcGIS Field Maps and ArcGIS Survey123

ArcGIS Field Maps is a map-centric data-collection app that supports Eos GNSS receivers, allowing users to capture, use, and monitor high-accuracy locations in real time, directly within the Esri ArcGIS platform.

Equivalent or better

TruPulse 360 Laser Rangefinder Compatibility

A laser rangefinder is beneficial for measuring distances and offsets to features, especially in challenging or inaccessible locations, providing accurate 2D and 3D data, and expediting fieldwork. The RTK GNSS receiver must be compatible with an LTI TruePulse 360 Laser Rangefinder.

Equivalent or better

Invisible Range Pole

Provide continuous, accurate elevation measurements to the ground below the receiver, eliminating the need for a physical range pole or entering antenna height data. As specified

Extensible Virtual Range Pole

Extended reach of data collection beyond the user's physical position up to 20 feet away while maintaining high accuracy without using an external laser rangefinder. The user would be able to collect points located under vehicles. As specified

Tilt Compensation

Accurate data collection with a survey range pole without the need to level it. Errors from tilted angles are rectified with an accuracy of approximately 0.3 millimeters of inaccuracy per degree of tilt.

Equivalent or better

Hot Swap Battery

The user can replace the battery without having to shut down the receiver, minimizing downtime in the field.

This is a significant advantage for users who need to operate the receiver for extended periods.

Equivalent or better

No Required Subscription or Maintenance Fee

No subscription or recurring maintenance cost for RTK service.

Equivalent or better

Manufacturer's Warranty for GNSS Receiver

GNSS receiver shall be free, under normal use and maintenance, from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 24 months from delivery date.

Equivalent or better

Warranty for Battery

Battery packs shall be free, under normal use and maintenance, from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 90 days.

Equivalent or better

Lifetime Customer Technical Support

Customer Technical Support Monday-Friday for the lifetime of the product.

Function Description Specification

Mounting Brackets and Attachments for Mobile Devices

Delivery should be within 15 business days following issuance of purchase order to vendor.

Failure to meet this delivery date may be deemed as non-responsive.

All unit bid prices shall be quoted FOB Destination, to include all freight and delivery costs to the Broward County Water and Wastewater Engineering Division 2555 West Copans Rd, Second Floor, Pompano Beach, FL 33069.

Deliveries may be made Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, between 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM.;

no deliveries shall be made on Saturdays or Sundays.

GLOSSARY:

RTK:

Real-Time Kinematic (RTK), a GPS-based positioning technique that significantly improves accuracy from meter-level to centimeter-level precision. It works by using corrections from a fixed base station, providing real-time updates to a rover receiver. This method is particularly useful in applications requiring precise location data, such as surveying, construction, and autonomous navigation.

GPS:

Global Positioning System (GPS) The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a space-based radio-navigation system consisting of a constellation of satellites broadcasting navigation signals and a network of ground stations and satellite control stations used for monitoring and control.

GNSS:

Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) is a general term for satellite constellations that provide global positioning, navigation, and timing services. Think of it as an umbrella term that includes various systems like GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and Galileo.
