The contract term begins upon execution by the District and extends through a specified end date. The agreement permits automatic renewal for multiple terms up to a maximum number of terms specified in Special Terms and Conditions, with the final contract term ending on June 30 of the designated year. Following expiration of all renewal terms, the contract may be extended on a month-to-month basis for up to six calendar months to allow the District to competitively solicit and award the same services. Payment to the contractor is made on a cost-reimbursement basis according to the cost proposal submitted in response to the RFP, with payments issued only upon completion and verification of services by appropriate District staff. Pre-payment is not permitted under New Mexico Statutes 13-1-158. The contractor is classified as an independent contractor and receives no employee benefits, including leave, retirement benefits, insurance, bonding, or use of District vehicles. Subcontractors may be used at the contractor's sole responsibility, provided written approval from the District is obtained before any subcontractor commences work.
