About this file

This is an Invitation to Bid (ITB) specification document issued by the City of Lubbock, Texas for the purchase, delivery, and installation of three pivot irrigation systems at the Lubbock Land Application Site. The project involves replacing three existing pivot systems identified as L6, L9, and L19 with new units measuring 1,253 feet, 1,219 feet, and 1,544 feet respectively. Each system shall include a new flow meter, and the work scope encompasses dismantling existing systems and relocating them outside the irrigation circles. The specifications detail comprehensive requirements for main piping, pivot assemblies, truss design, tower construction, steel components, fasteners, hydraulic systems, and electrical components compliant with the National Electrical Code.

The specifications require minimum flow rates of 1,000 gallons per minute for plots L6 and L9 and 1,200 gallons per minute for plot L19 at 25 PSI operating pressure, with a maximum of 35 PSI. All steel structure components must be hot-dipped galvanized to ASTM 123-73 specifications with a minimum coat of 2.00 ounces per square foot. The electrical systems must be three-phase 480-volt, 60-hertz with single-phase 120-volt backup, include a programmable main system with rotation accuracy of plus or minus one degree, and feature a disconnect rated at 30 amps and 600 volts. All motors shall be rated at 460-480 VAC, three-phase, 1,725 rpm, totally enclosed with inherent overload protection. Bidders must submit current printed literature and specification sheets with their bids and fully describe any exceptions to the stated specifications.
