About this file
This document is a technical specification for the Frank White Jr. Sports Complex Irrigation Improvements project located in Jackson County, Missouri, prepared by Olsson (Project M23-01112) and dated March 10, 2025. The specification covers the comprehensive installation of a non-potable landscape irrigation system for the sports complex, which includes detailed requirements for piping, valves (manual and automatic), sprinkler and rotor heads, driplines, quick couplers, controllers, and central control features. The project requires a turn-key irrigation system installation with Hunter Irrigation Systems as the basis of design, though other manufacturers may be considered if they meet or exceed the specified standards. The irrigation system will utilize non-potable water from the Fred Arbanas Golf Course supply and will feature a central control system with advanced monitoring and management capabilities.
The specification outlines extensive technical requirements for equipment, installation methods, testing, and warranty provisions. The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to complete the irrigation system, including electrical connections, wire routing, surge protection, and grounding. The system will incorporate advanced features such as flow sensors, rain sensors, decoder-based control, and remote monitoring capabilities. The project requires a five-year manufacturer's warranty for irrigation equipment and a one-year warranty for workmanship and supplies. The contractor must also provide training to the owner's personnel, create detailed record drawings, and perform system commissioning with a Hunter Field Service Manager. The specification emphasizes compliance with federal, state, and local codes, and requires precise installation techniques, including specific trenching, backfilling, and testing protocols.
