About this file
This document provides revisions to questions and answers for a solicitation seeking proposals for the Total and Spectral solar Irradiance Sensor-2 (TSIS-2) spacecraft. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration Goddard Space Flight Center updated requirements to specify over-current protection instead of fusing for instrument power feeds and clarified that factor of safety requirements are in addition to quasi-static load specifications. Offerors are invited to submit proposals by February 6, 2020 for a firm-fixed price contract awarded in May 2020 to acquire a spacecraft and related services including mission operations. The work will be performed offsite at the contractor's facilities to support the TSIS-2 Project through June 2023.

# DOC REF Contractor Question/Comment Project Response
35 REQ 4.4.15 Recommend changing requirement to “Each instrument power feed shall have over-current protection.” Specifying fusing is prescribing a design where other approaches may be more appropriate and/or lower cost.
This requirement has been updated to incorporate over-current protection instead of fusing.
46 REQ 6.3.2.1 Requirement states that +/- 15g, does this take into account the factor of safety, or should the factor of safety be applied in addition to the stated quasi-static load?
Table 5 shows factor of safety requirements.
