About this file
This is a project scope document for Salt Lake Community College's (SLCC) Wayfinding Phase 1 project, managed by Project Manager Talieya Wallace. The project requires a qualified General Contractor to demo and install exterior and interior wayfinding improvements utilizing GSBS design plans and specifications, including associated electrical, irrigation, and landscaping work. Contractors must have a minimum of five years of experience working on similar or larger projects with SLCC. Key requirements include obtaining all necessary permits in compliance with UDOT and MUTCD standards, providing traffic control in active work areas, implementing fencing and safety barricades to protect students and staff from the active campus environment, and completing weekly Owners Authorized Representative (OAC) meetings on Thursday mornings. The contractor must secure written approval from the SLCC Project Manager before commencing any work, including the initial site mobilization, and must attend mandatory pre-construction, communication planning, risk management, substantial completion, final completion, retrospective, and one-year warranty meetings totaling approximately 15 hours.
The contractor is responsible for all debris and material disposal off-site without use of SLCC dumpsters, providing ADA-compliant weatherproof reroute signage for pedestrian traffic, and mobilizing barricades and staging areas with fencing the evening prior to work or before 7:00 a.m. on the first day. The contractor and all subcontractors must accept the state of Utah's standard terms and conditions without submitting alternative company terms, and are required to work weekends and holidays if schedule delays result from causes not attributable to the owner. Any property damage caused by the contractor shall be restored at contractor expense, with damages within two feet of marked utility lines requiring complete repair at contractor cost. The contractor must maintain adequate personnel and safety measures to ensure timely, quality completion while accommodating an active college campus environment.
