About this file
This is a Bid Schedule document for Salt Lake County Public Works Operations Division in Utah for a directional boring and traffic signal construction project. The project involves multiple work items including directional boring for two-inch and three-inch conduit installation (totaling 410 linear feet), installation of three concrete junction boxes, removal and replacement of 200 square feet of concrete flatwork, mobilization and demobilization, permit acquisition, traffic control implementation, utility location services, landscaping restoration, and attempt fees for unsuccessful drilling attempts. A virtual pre-bid meeting was scheduled for December 10th at 11:00 AM, with inquiries directed to Aaron Stone at astone@saltlakecounty.gov. The County reserves the right to award multiple contracts to responsive and responsible bidders meeting qualifications who bid the lowest overall cost, with projects potentially occurring at various times and locations throughout Salt Lake County.
The bid schedule requires contractors to submit unit prices for each line item, with a critical requirement that directional boring unit prices must equal or be lower than those bid in original bid documents. All measurement and payment procedures are governed by APWA Section 01 29 00, with the Engineer responsible for taking measurements and computing quantities while the contractor provides all equipment, workers, and survey crews to assist. Payment for attempt fees is only allowable when boring cannot be completed due to obstructions or changes made by the County owner, not by contractor actions. The document specifies detailed scope requirements for each bid item, including labor, equipment, materials, disposal, and restoration costs, with most items measured as lump sums except directional boring (linear feet measured by mule tape) and concrete flatwork removal (square feet).
