About this file
This is an Addendum #1 issued by the Utah Division of Facilities Construction and Management (DFCM) for the USDB HVAC Upgrades project (#26212230), dated September 28, 2026. The addendum addresses clarifications regarding hydronic piping materials for the air handling unit replacement and variable frequency drive serving a heating hot water pump project. No changes were made to the solicitation schedule, drawings, or specifications. The addendum clarifies that 3-inch chilled water and heating hot water piping may be constructed using either Type L copper with brazed joints or polypropylene with fusion welded joints; ProPress copper is not permitted on this project despite previous use in existing piping within the room. Bidders are required to acknowledge receipt of this addendum with their bid submission, and failure to do so may result in disqualification.
The project carries a construction cost estimate of $475,000.00 and is limited to contractors who have been prequalified under the Stage I Prequalification for Contractors process and currently appear on the DFCM Prequalified Contractors list as of the solicitation date. This clarification addendum was prepared by Ryan Boogaard, PE, from the architect-engineer firm and was issued to address bidder questions regarding conflicting specifications between the plans and project documents.
