About this file

This is a Pump Test Record form issued by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Water Resources Center, designed to document well pumping test activities conducted on the state's groundwater observation wells. The form serves as the standardized data collection instrument for the Observation Well Pumping Project, which involves performing pumping tests on 6 of Missouri's 150 groundwater observation wells to determine each well's efficiency and performance characteristics. The form captures comprehensive well identification data including facility name, well number, county location, latitude, longitude, total depth, casing specifications, and hole diameter. The document requires detailed time-series measurements during the pumping test phase, which must be conducted for a minimum of 24 hours or no less than 8 hours if drawdown has stabilized for at least two hours, and includes recovery data collection following the pumping phase. Completed forms must be submitted to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, PO Box 250, Rolla, MO 65402, via phone at 573-751-2867 or email at dnr.mgswrc-assistanceunit@dnr.mo.gov.

The form provides critical operational parameters and quality control guidelines to ensure consistent and reliable test results. Key measurement variables include static water level (SWL), pumping rate, pump setting (PS), airline length (AL), pumping level (PL), and drawdown (DD), with measurements recorded at specified time intervals ranging from initial baseline readings through 1,440 minutes of pumping activity. The form includes mandatory procedural requirements such as not beginning the pumping test until water levels have stabilized post-drilling, maintaining a constant pumping rate with no more than 5 percent variation, and halting the test if rate fluctuations exceed acceptable thresholds. The document also contains optional sections for military service information and veteran benefits inquiries, allowing respondents to opt-in for information sharing with the Missouri Veterans Commission.

***IMPORTANT POINTS TO CONSIDER WHEN CONDUCTING A PUMPING TEST***

1. Do NOT begin pumping test until water level has stabilized after drilling and can be considered static.

2. Do NOT vary the pumping rate, if the pumping rate is decreased more than 5% from the initial pumping rate, the test MUST be

STOPPED.

3. If the pump test is stopped, do not begin again until water level has fully recovered to static.

4. The pump test must be conducted for 24 hours, or no less than 8 hours if the drawdown has stabilized for at least two hours.

AL = Airline Length reading, PL = Pumping Level, PS = Pump Set, DD = Drawdown
