About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for the Mid-Atlantic Service Unit Office Furniture solicitation (75H71525R00002) by the Department of Health and Human Services Indian Health Service. The Q&A addresses specific furniture requirements and configurations for various rooms, including pharmacy consult rooms, behavioral health offices, and entry waiting areas. Key clarifications include furniture specifications such as using pedestal desks in smaller rooms (Rooms 1059/1055/1047/1054 PRC), confirming furniture for pharmacy consult rooms, and specifying furniture details like 3-shelf bookcases, 2-drawer locking lateral files with shelves, and task chairs for reception areas.
The document provides detailed answers to specific questions about room furnishings, such as recommending pedestal desks for space-constrained offices, clarifying the type of chairs needed for exam rooms (suggesting a bariatric chair), and confirming that offices receiving 2-drawer files should also have a shelf on top. These Q&A responses appear to be part of the procurement process to ensure precise understanding of the furniture requirements for the Mid-Atlantic Service Unit, which is set aside for ISBEE/IEE (Indian Small Business Economic Enterprise) vendors.

Rooms 1059/1055/1047/1054 PRC
These rooms requested L-Shapes and a 2-drawer lateral file, after seeing the rooms yesterday they are extremely small and it was confirmed they wanted only a pedestal desk in them instead of an L-Shape.
Answer: Pedestal is fine for these.
Rooms 1053 Pharmacy Consult
This room is not listed on the furniture list, room 1069 which is also a pharmacy consult room is listed, should 1053 be the same furniture or is something different needed?
Answer: Same is fine
Standard Behavioral Health Offices
These rooms are requesting a lot of furniture but after seeing them yesterday they aren’t very big, so these are my questions –
They request an L-shape and a Desk Shell, which would they like? Or just a straight pedestal desk to help with space?
Answer: If you believe the pedestal will work better with the space, then that is fine.
It requests 5 storage, stackable files, what are these?
Answer: 2 drawer locking lateral file that can be stacked if additional is needed
Room 2029 – Entry Waiting
They request a task chair for this area but the end user wasn’t sure why, can we confirm the purpose for this task chair?
Answer: There is a reception desk there. That is where the receptionist would sit.
General Questions
Do all offices that are getting a 2 drawer need a shelf on top?
Answer: Yes
What size bookcases for the offices that get them?
Answer: 3 shelf
It didn’t seem like there was any real answer for what the settee for the exam rooms are supposed to be so could we try to get some more clarification on what they were looking for?
Answer: That would be more like a bariatric chair vs a regular chair.
