Page 6 of the SOW lists existing AHU's and humidifiers and page 7 language indicates:

iv. Integration w/ Existing System: The steam boiler shall be designed to integrate and utilize existing piping to the maximum extent possible. The existing piping includes: the existing steam piping system between packaged steam boiler and steam humidifiers, existing combustion gas vent, existing fuel oil piping, and existing feedwater piping [excluding feedwater tank].

The contractors interpretation is that for commissioning purposes, we would be testing basic humidifier operation by ensuring steam is present when the humidifier is enabled. No capacity testing will be performed or humidifier performance other than ensuring delivery of steam. Is this the Governments intent?

06/13/2024

Correct, the contractor is not responsible for the performance of the humidifiers.

The contractor is reponsible to ensure the steam boiler is capable of meeting the lb/hr steam and pressure demands listed in the SOW and not responsible for the performance of the humidifiers themselves.
