About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file from a site visit for a C-5 Scaffolding Rental federal contract opportunity. The document details specific scaffolding requirements for two aircraft models (C-Model and M-Model), including internal and external scaffolding configurations, setup procedures, and technical specifications. Key details include scaffolding placement (8' from top center for C-Model, 7" for M-Model), required width of 14' for both models, and a 75" height from ground to aircraft belly when jacked.
Additional contractual requirements include following OSHA safety standards, mandatory EGRES and Confined Spaces training for contractors, requirement for engineer-stamped final drawings, and prevailing wage compliance with Houston County, Georgia. The scaffolding work will be sequential, with one aircraft processed at a time, and requires a spotter during construction. The government will provide a forklift and driver, and no specific government safety standards were specified beyond industry OSHA regulations. A bridge connection is needed on the fore and aft ends of the aircraft to connect external scaffolding, and internal scaffolding can be built on the aircraft floor or existing walkways with additional decking.
