About this file

This document outlines branding strategy requirements for a USAID conservation assistance activity in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The contractor will use full USAID branding and acknowledgement of American taxpayer support on all materials and communications for the Conservation through Economic Empowerment in the Republic of Congo activity. The activity aims to strengthen capacity of local organizations to partner on biodiversity conservation and forest preservation efforts through addressing threats to forests and biodiversity. The activity branding should have high visibility within USAID and among target audiences in Central Africa. The contractor logo will not be used on project documents, which will acknowledge preparation for USAID's Central Africa Regional Program for the Environment by the activity.

A related federal contract opportunity seeks proposals to deliver services supporting CARPE's goal of maintaining the ecological integrity of humid forests in the Congo Basin. Specifically, the Conservation through Economic Empowerment in the Republic of Congo activity will aim to establish sustainable "green industries" improving livelihoods and large areas of forest, wildlife and people through reducing threats to biodiversity, carbon-rich forests and peatlands. The activity will work at multiple levels including the private sector, civil society and communities to coordinate green economic development with conservation and sustainable forest management.

ATTACHMENT 5 – BRANDING STRATEGY

Objective: To provide the Contractor with areas to be addressed in the development of the CEERC Activity Branding Implementation and Marking Plans so as to deliver the message that the assistance is from the American People.

Branding Strategy for the USAID Conservation through Economic Empowerment in the Republic of the Congo (CEERC) Activity [Insert Activity No.] From Requesting Office: USAID/DRC Central Africa Regional Program for the Environment (CARPE) Office Program or Project Name: USAID Conservation through Economic Empowerment in the Republic of the Congo (CEERC) Activity / l’Activite de l’USAID sur la Conservation a travers l’Autonomie Economique en Republique du Congo.

How the materials and communications will be positioned: [Contractor] will use full branding and the USAID tagline “From the American People” on materials and communications, which may be translated into local languages as appropriate. Co-branding / no branding will only be considered on a case-by-case basis as considered appropriate by the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) and Contracting Officer (CO).

Desired level of visibility: The “USAID Conservation through Economic Empowerment in the Republic of the Congo (CEERC) Activity” has a desired high level of visibility within USAID – both in Central Africa and the U.S. - and with external target audiences in Central Africa since the purpose of the Activity is to strengthen the capacity of independent organizations to be reliable and effective partners with state and private sector actors in the implementation of biodiversity conservation and forest preservation activities, including addressing threats to forests and biodiversity.

Any other organizations to be acknowledged: Project documents will not use the contractor’s logo, but will acknowledge that the document was prepared for USAID’s Central Africa Regional Program for Environment (CARPE) Office by the “Conservation through Economic Empowerment in the Republic of the Congo (CEERC) Activity”, [Contractor].

There are no controls on the contractor’s release or use of data that the contractor, or any subcontractor, produces in performing the contract. The contract for this project will state that copyrights and rights to data shall be in accordance with the clause entitled, “Rights in Data – General” (FAR 52.227-14 (b)(2)).
