About this file
This is Amendment 00008 to solicitation 70Z0G125BSYN00190 issued by the USCG Civil Engineering Unit Providence for the Repair Buoy Yard project. The amendment addresses contractor questions, announces an additional site visit scheduled for December 3, 2024 at 10:00am at 85 Port Terminal Boulevard in Bayonne, NJ, and extends the bid due date to December 10, 2024 at 2:00pm EST.
Key clarifications include: grade 80 steel rebar is acceptable in lieu of grade 60 for concrete pavement; GPR preconstruction utility scanning is required; electrical work may be conducted in energized or de-energized state following OSHA/NEC protocols; contractors are responsible for permit costs; the solar panel array is to be removed and disposed of rather than relocated; concrete pad removal thickness is assumed to be 8"; new underground electrical conduit should be assumed as 4" diameter; contractors must provide their own utilities; the Phase 1 area must be substantially complete before Phase 2 begins; and HAZMAT PPE is not anticipated to be needed for container relocation as USCG personnel will empty containers prior to contractor handling. Project mobilization will not occur until April 2025 at the earliest.
