Amendment 00007 Repair Buoy Yard November 21, 2024
Q12. Do any of the structures slated for demolition require any asbestos abatement and or asbestos survey?
A12. The structures specified for demolition are primarily pre-fab with no sheet rock and no risk for asbestos.
Q13. Do you foresee the existing manholes/catch basins within the LOD needing height adjustment relative to the proposed grades? It is understood that the grading plan will be prepared by a licensed engineer retained by the contractor.
A13. The preliminary proposed contours shown on Contract Drawing C-101 were generated assuming no change to the existing grate elevation for the catch basin located between the Cutter Support Building and Crane Building along the LOD. However, height adjustment may be proposed based on input from the licensed professional engineer and pending USCG approval. With respect to the existing electrical handholes/manholes, some height adjustment may be necessary for these structures to meet proposed grade.
Q14. Should the contractor assume that the USCG will relocate all buoys, concrete blocks, and other structures and equipment not including the structures that are proposed to be reused, or will the contractor be responsible to move all USCG property in order to perform the work?
A.14. USCG ANT New York personnel will be responsible for relocating all buoys, concrete blocks, chain, and other structures and equipment not including the structures that are proposed to be reused. The Contractor shall provide a minimum of 30 days’ notice prior to commencing work for Phases 1 and 2 to allow sufficient time for the Unit to relocate.
