(14) Human Interface Terminals and Page 6 of 24: Section 3.1.9: The Human Interface Terminal shall provide for the selective switching of at least six (6) speaker zones or groups throughout the ship (e.g. Officers, Topside, Crew Quarters, Engineering, Work Spaces, and spare) and selection of the 6MC from the Pilothouse.

VENDOR QUESTION 1: Is the Human Interface Terminal a replacement for, or in conjunction with, the Pilothouse IC/MSB-2 Microphone Station as listed in Attachments 16 and 17?

ANSWER TO VENDOR QUESTION 1: The Human Interface Terminals can be in addition to or as a replacement for the IC/MSB-2 Microphone station. The objective was to not tie the vendor to the current interface hardware, but to allow for substitution of newer hardware that can support current capabilities as well as provide for future capabilities.

It is also permissible for the current IC/MSB-2 to remain as long as all current capabilities are maintained.

Thousand (11,000) feet of cabling.

VENDOR QUESTION 2: For pricing purposes, please provide the type of cable to be installed or replaced.

The vendor shall replace existing cabling as required to ensure proper function and longevity of the system. VENDOR QUESTION 3: Will the Government provide wiring diagrams, or will the Contractor be expected to provide wiring diagrams?

ANSWER TO VENDOR QUESTION 3: Current Computer Oriented Wiring Diagrams (COED) and Ship’s Drawing Plans are provided under Amendment 000001 as Government- Furnished Information (GFI). See page 32 of 69, page 35 of 69 and Attachments 27 through 32 of the amended RFP. Vendor shall provide updated Computer Oriented

VENDOR QUESTION 4: Is this requirement for replacing existing, installing new, or allocating spare speakers?

ANSWER TO VENDOR QUESTION 4: This requirement is for replacing existing speakers as required to make the systems fully operationally capable. Any excess speakers will be used as sparing.

VENDOR QUESTION 5: Will the Government provide requirements for type of speaker, associated group, and location to replace or install?

ANSWER TO VENDOR QUESTION 5: Ship’s Drawing Plans are provided under Amendment 000001 as Government-Furnished Information (GFI), which show the type, associated group and location of all shipboard alarm/announcing system speakers. See page 32 of 69, page 35 of 69 and Attachments 27 through 32 of the amended RFP.

ANSWER TO VENDOR QUESTION 7: Current portable alarm contactor panels are non-standardized. As such, current connectivity diagrams are not reliable. Vendor shall provide updated wiring diagrams based on the proposed new configuration in accordance with (IAW) Statement of Work (SOW) Section 5.2.4, and Table 2 – Deliverables, Item 4, IAW SOW Section 5.
