Typically, there is a rinse, just following the Dwell, after the Penetrant, resulting in two rinse tanks on these lines.
This rinse, oftentimes called the “Pre-Rinse”, is used to rinse off the Penetrant and the second rinse, called the “Post-Rinse” is used to rinse off the emulsifier. Is there a Pre-Rinse.
Basic description of the tanks in the penetrant line: Type 1 Post-Emulsifiable Lipophilic Method B:
1. Penetrant
2. Dwell
3. Emulsifier
4. Dwell
5. Rinse
6. Dryer
7. Developer
8. Inspection Booth
We use only one rinse station; it is used for both of these steps listed in the question.
Currently all the products from both processes end up in a holding tank and are eventually removed as hazardous waste.
This is the reason the solicitation is posted for a Wastewater Treatment System with Water Recycler options, with specifics noted in the SOW. Any company who is interested must meet our requirements and be able to process the chemicals to the levels as noted in the SOW. Size restrictions of the system are of a major concern as well due to the footprint of the shop space as specified in the SOW.
