Text Question Answer

62 Att 2, Sec 079- 1.8

079-1.8 reads: No surface of the boat except the actual fender shall be excluded as a walking or standing surface for the purposes of compliance with ISO 12217-1."

ISO 12217-1 reads: B.3.1.7 The “crew area” comprises the “working deck” as defined by the manufacturer in accordance with ISO 15085 plus the areas of all seats, bunks, sunbathing pads, cabin soles and internal decks. It shall include all areas designated to be used by the crew when the boat is stationary, but may exclude ledges less than 0,10 m in width and areas excluded by “no access” signs.

Please confirm that "ledges less than 0,10 m wide can be excluded from the crew area" as it applies to gunwales.

No. Attachment 2, Section 079-1.8, is accurate and only the actual fender can be excluded.
