About this file

This document is an Insurance Requirements file for Jefferson County, Colorado, detailing comprehensive insurance specifications for contractors performing work for the county. The related contract opportunity involves replacing roof top units (RTUs) at the Parfet Building, which requires the removal of existing units and installation of 12 new Carrier units with adapter curbs and i-Vu Plus Building Automation cards, maintaining the same tonnage as the current equipment.

The insurance requirements mandate specific coverage levels, including workers' compensation, commercial general liability, automobile liability, excess/umbrella liability, and pollution liability, with Jefferson County listed as an additional insured. Contractors must have insurance from carriers licensed in Colorado with an A.M. Best rating of at least A-/VII, and maintain coverage throughout the contract term. Notably, all policies must include a waiver of subrogation, and any deviations from the specified insurance standards require approval from Jefferson County Safety and Compliance. Subcontractors are also required to meet the same insurance requirements unless specifically approved for deviation.
