About this file

This is a Payment Bond document for the City of Fort Worth, Texas, related to the 2027 Asphalt Resurfacing Contract 6 (City Project No. 106821). The bond is required in compliance with Chapter 2253 of the Texas Government Code and serves as a guarantee that the principal contractor will pay all monies owed to payment bond beneficiaries during the execution of the work. The contract covers substantial infrastructure work including approximately 2,710 linear feet of 7-inch curb and gutter, 15,221 square feet of 6-inch concrete driveway, 17,248 square feet of 4-inch concrete sidewalk, 50,465 square yards of 2-inch asphalt pavement with surface milling, 15,635 square yards of 3-inch asphalt pavement with 11-inch pavement pulverization, 253 tons of cemlime, and 76 barrier-free ADA ramps.

The Payment Bond requires the principal contractor and a corporate surety authorized to conduct business in Texas to execute the bond in a penal sum amount to be specified. The surety is jointly and severally liable for ensuring all materials, equipment, labor, and accessories are provided in accordance with the contract terms. The bond becomes null and void upon the contractor's complete payment to all beneficiaries; otherwise, it remains in full force and effect. Execution of the bond must occur on or after the contract award date, and the surety must provide a certified extract from its bylaws demonstrating the signatory's authority, along with both physical and mailing addresses if they differ.
