About this file
This is a Request for Quotation (RFQ) issued by Argonne National Laboratory for the procurement of a water-cooled centrifugal chiller with variable speed, oil-free compressor for Building 350 Chiller Replacement Phase II. The quotation must be received by March 1, 2026, at 5:00 PM CST, with contact provided to Molly Hunter at (630) 252-3094 or mollyhunter@anl.gov. The chiller will be delivered to Argonne National Laboratory, Building 046, located at 9700 South Cass Avenue in Lemont, Illinois. Evaluation will be based on lowest price, technically acceptable criteria, and offerors must provide a published pricelist or comparable invoice documentation to support pricing. Payment terms are Net 30 days, F.O.B. Destination, with exemptions from Illinois Occupation and Use Taxes.
The specification requires the new chiller module to be fully compatible with two existing Trane TACW110AT3546-MINIMOD modular chiller units, operating as an integrated system without requiring gateways, protocol converters, or custom programming. The manufacturer's authorized local representative must provide field start-up, controls integration, operator training, and firmware updates at no additional cost. The manufacturer shall also provide a minimum of 48 hours of third-party commissioning support. Offerors must complete and return the Argonne Representations and Certifications booklet along with their quotation. High-risk work requirements mandate submission of a completed ESH-209 Job Safety Analysis Form and an insurance certificate naming UChicago Argonne, LLC, The University of Chicago, and the US Government as additional insureds prior to work commencement. Offerors must also identify the total lead time from purchase order to final delivery, factory location uniqueness, proprietary status, and reseller availability.
