About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers file for the AZ FS 289(1) AZ NFSR 289 Bridge Replacement project, containing 26 questions and responses from October 27 to November 18, 2025. Key details include specific technical requirements for bridge construction, such as permanent steel casing embedment, form liner design to simulate stone masonry, and concrete coating matching the existing Tonto Creek Bridge. The project involves replacing an existing bridge with a 20-ton load limit, and contractors must navigate complex requirements including water sourcing (no government-provided water source), environmental permitting, and small business subcontracting goals.
The document addresses multiple technical and procedural aspects of the project, including restrictions on water usage, temporary crossing limitations, and bid submission requirements. Notable points include: electronic bids are not accepted, no as-built documents exist for the existing bridge, CAD files will not be provided during advertisement, and the bid date will not be extended. Small business participation requirements are referenced, with contractors directed to Appendix C for subcontracting goals. The project appears to be managed by FHWA and involves bridge replacement in Arizona, with specific attention to matching existing structural and aesthetic elements of the current bridge.
