About this file

This is an Amendment of Solicitation/Modification of Contract document issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), specifically the AAQ-500 Regional Acquisitions office located in College Park, Georgia. The amendment is numbered 0002 with an effective date of September 10, 2026, and references solicitation number 697DCK-26-R-00397 dated August 14, 2026. The amendment is not extended and modifies the original solicitation through the addition of Questions and Answers responses.

The document provides clarifications to the original solicitation regarding a parking lot project at a childcare facility (ZTL Childcare Parking Lot). Key project details include: curb and gutter dimensions are provided in attached reference materials; asphalt milling is estimated at 2 inches depth with historical pavement consisting of 2 inches of wearing course over 8 inches of compacted crushed stone base; a Contractor Field Office is not required due to the project's short duration, though the FAA disclaims responsibility for lost documentation or belongings; buses will be removed from the lot; work is coordinated for Saturdays and Sundays with start times of 6:00 AM or 8:00 AM and end times of 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM depending on weather and sunset; daily guardhouse check-in with vehicle inspection is required; equipment relocation to a designated fenced area on campus is permitted between shifts; and temporary portable restrooms are required. All other terms and conditions of the original solicitation remain unchanged and in full force and effect.

Amendment 0002 is released for the following:

1. Questions and Answers are hereby provided.

Questions and Answers

1. The Specification do not include a detail for the Curb & Gutter/Pan. Could you provide the dimensions of the curb & gutter? Additionally, how wide is the pan?

Answer: Please see attached PDF labeled 'RFI Curb Measurement Pictures'

2. Do you have the depth of the existing asphalt? The plans are asking for milling down to the existing GAB, but no construction documents detailing the specifications for the asphalt putback or current depth. With two mixes in the specifications, we anticipate a wearing & binder course, however specs do not show the depths of each material.

Please advise.

Answer: : Historical As-Built Drawings SO-D-102337-C05 indicate that the pavement consisted of 2 inches of asphalt wearing course over 8 inches of compacted crushed stone base on compacted subgrade. This information is a reference only. No pavement core data is available to verify the current pavement thickness. Contractor shall field verify actual conditions during removal. Please see attached PDF labeled 'ZTL Childcare Parking Lot'.

3. Please confirm whether both the Contractor Field Office required under Section 01 50 00 §1.13 and the RE Field Office required under §1.14 are required for this project. If not, please clarify which field office requirements apply.

Answer: Since the duration of the project will not be particularly long, the Office is not required. However, the FAA will not be responsible for any documentation, drawings, or personal company belongings that are lost. Additionally, the FAA could provide but is not responsible or entitled to give a temporary toilet. Coordination can be talked to determine whether an existing restroom withing the facility can be made available for contractor use. If necessary, the FAA may also provide temporary space within the facility for equipment storage, subject to availability and prior coordination.

4. The current project information identifies the historical section; however, the final replacement pavement section and total thickness remain pending confirmation by the Engineer.

Answer: Milling is estimated to be 2" of asphalt depth.

5. Will busses on the lot be removed/relocated from the parking lot?

Answer: Yes.

6. What work times can be coordinated?

Answer: Saturdays and Sundays, need to coordinate with childcare to work Saturdays. Start time 6:00 AM or &;00 AM, End time 5:30PM-7:00 PM. Depends on sunset/weather since parking lot does not possess too many light poles.

7. Is Guardhouse check-in required every day?

Answer: Yes, daily check-in at guardhouse is required and vehicles will be inspected for firearms and knives.

8. Equipment needs relocation if not finished during shifts? (e.g. Could not finish on a Sunday, must come back next Saturday)

Answer: Yes, we can coordinate a designated area inside the fenceline of ZTL. Ideally on a trailer to move and store easier on a designated spot on campus.

9. Temporary portable restrooms required?

Answer: Yes
