About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI) document for FAA Solicitation 697DCK-26-R-00352 regarding the QMI ARSR Guardrail Replacement project at Mica Peak (Rockford), Washington. The RFI presents four substantive questions from potential contractors seeking clarification on project requirements, with questions addressing utility locations and hand digging procedures, terminal and anchor placement requirements, roadway geometry and design specifications, and the need for longer posts for Type 31 guardrail installations. Questions 5 through 9 are listed but not detailed in the document. The RFI was originally due August 10, 2026, but was extended to August 24, 2026, with a pre-bid site visit scheduled for August 19, 2026.

The underlying solicitation, set aside for small businesses, involves the demolition and installation of access road guardrails at the Mica Peak Long Range Radar (ARSR) site. The FAA Eastern Acquisitions office (AAQ-570) in College Park, Georgia, is seeking a Firm Fixed Price Contract with an estimated cost magnitude between $250,000 and $500,000 and a projected 60-calendar-day performance period. The NAICS code is 237310 (Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction). The bid submission deadline was extended to August 31, 2026, at 3:00 PM EDT. Four companies attended the August 19, 2026 site visit: Osprey Exterior LLC, Frank Gurney Inc., Keo & Associates Inc., and M2 General Contractors Inc.
