About this file
This document is an Amendment containing questions and answers regarding the Orlando Executive Airport Air Traffic Control Tower Slatwall/Consoles Design, Fabrication, Delivery, and Installation solicitation. The Q&A clarifies that there will be only one pre-bid site survey on January 22, 2025, with no additional surveys before the February 13th bid date. The post-award site visit mentioned in section 2.3 will be coordinated separately.
Key technical details provided include: electrical work requiring 120V/20A circuits (two each for West, North, and East walls) with FAA-supplied breakers; plumbing connections for a convenience area sink; standard plexi inlay (not ESD) is acceptable for consoles; and consoles must accommodate existing HVAC equipment. The tower will remain operational during the project, requiring evening work hours. Estimated console delivery is early August 2025. The amendment also indicates specifications for raised flooring and carpeting will be provided separately.

Amendment 0001 - Responses to Questions
Orlando Executive Airport Air Traffic Control Tower Slatwall/Consoles Design, Fabrication, Delivery, and
Installation
1) Is the intention of FAA to provide site access ONLY on Jan 22nd at the Mandatory site visit for bidders to set eyes on the existing Tower Cab and take photos of the existing site conditions in support of bidding the scope of work (Consoles + Construction)? – or will there be an additional site visit where vendors are permitted to fully uncover existing site conditions (Feb 10th?)
Answer: Yes. There will only be one survey of the tower prior to the bid date schedule for 01/22/2025
2) On Jan. 22nd - Will the bidders have unimpeded access to the entire ATCT Cab, under raised floor, inside of cabinets, and behind walls (electrical, grounding, ventilation, plumbing) to take pictures and witness the entire scope of TKS (Construction) work to be bid? If so, is it permitted for architects and electricians to gain access to these specifics on this date?
Answer: We will have access to the areas requested during the survey. The tower will be operational during the survey which may briefly delay access to areas in the tower cab depending on traffic levels.
3) Is there an additional site visit planned for Feb 10th in section 2.3 Design Parameters and is this a secondary visit to be part of the pre-solicitation survey work also? This is too close to the Feb 13th bid date and does not provide enough time to prepare bids. Please clarify.
Answer: Please note that the site visit date included in the statement of work in section 2.3 Design
Parameters is a site visit that will be conducted post award. The post award site visit will be coordinated by the Contracting Officer Representative/FAA Project Engineer and ensure access to the facility.
4) Can the FAA provide a documented detail scope for the electrical work to be completed in sections
(2.2E and 5.4): “installation work will include miscellaneous casework, electrical wiring, and plumbing”.
Answer: Plumbing - Plumbing work is anticipated to include the connection of water supply and drain to the convenience area sink to the existing water and drain suppling the current sink. The connection point can be confirmed during the site visit on Jan 22, 2025.
Electrical – Install a 120V/20 circuit from an existing power panel located on the floor below the tower.
Each circuit will connect to outlets / plug molds that the contractor supplies in the base of the console. I am looking at 2 circuits suppling the West Wall (Convenience Unit and console), 2 circuits suppling the
North Wall and 2 circuits suppling the East Wall (perimeter console and Sup area). The 120V/20A breakers will be available or supplied by the FAA. FAA personnel will perform all work in the breaker panel. The tower will remain operational during the duration of the project so work will need to be conducted when the tower is closed in the evening.
5) Can the FAA provide the specification for the raised floor and carpeting (type of raised floor tile, carpet color and specification) (section 2.2D) to be completed.
Answer: We will provide a copy of this information.
6) Can the FAA provide the specification for the ventilation as identified in sections 2.2F and section 2.6
(#4 & #6)
Answer: The console will need to accommodate the existing HVAC equipment and ducting.
7) Plexi: section 2.9 2: section 2.4 11 just lists plexi inlay however section 2.9 2 says ESD plexi, which has a a significant price differential compared to normal plexi – standard plexi is typically supplied to FAA due to the very high cost of ESD plexiglass. Can the FAA please confirm if normal plexi inlay is acceptable?
Answer: Standard plex will be acceptable. ESD comment is not applicable.
8) What is the expected delivery date for slat wall consoles and the completion date for the project?
Answer: We are estimating a console delivery date in early August 2025.
