STATEMENT OF WORK SNOW REMOVAL SERVICE
FOR BUFFALO AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL TOWER
1. The control tower is located at 165 Holtz Road, Cheektowaga, NY 14225. The work includes a parking lot that measures 42,986 square feet which accommodates approximately 150 cars, and 900 feet of sidewalk to be cleared and or salted. The area also includes 2 access gates, which require a clearance area behind gates to be kept clear to keep snow from interfering with gate operations. All seven building exterior doors will be kept clear of snow and ice for use in emergencies.
2. In general, snow is to be removed as needed to keep the parking lot and sidewalks open and safe, generally 2” or more. At times it may be necessary to salt the parking lots and sidewalks due to formation of ice or freezing rain. The contractor is expected to respond promptly (within one hour) to any request from the FAA for snow removal operations.
3. The control tower is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. It is imperative that snow removal is completed to accommodate shift changes which are as follows:
5:30 AM to 8 AM each day 2 PM to 4 PM each day 11 PM each day It is expected that the contractor will plow as needed without waiting for a call out.
4. If snow must be removed from the premises when directed by the site POC, due to accumulation exceeds what can be pushed off the roads and parking areas without blocking driveways, walkways, parking areas, islands, handicapped parking areas, and loading dock (if dock onsite). If snow is directed to be removed offsite, contractor will be instructed to invoice for payment via purchase card with site directly and not submit through DELPHI as per normal invoicing.
5. At the current time, there is no mandate for type of ice treatment (ie. Salt vs Calcium), however that may change in the future if parking lots/walkways are re-done.
