About this file

This amendment modifies a federal solicitation to replace air handling units at an air traffic control facility. The Federal Aviation Administration seeks offers by January 24th to remove two existing air handling units and install new units with integrated controls at the Los Angeles Air Route Traffic Control Center in Palmdale, California. Offerors must visit the site on January 8th and direct any questions to the contracting officer by January 9th. The work includes demolishing and disposing of the old units, installing new air handling equipment along with associated plumbing, HVAC piping, electrical, and fire detection systems. Offerors must integrate the new unit controls into the facility's existing BACnet system and follow the project's drawings and specifications. This is a 100% small business set-aside with a NAICS code of 238290 and size standard of $22 million.

Question 1: What is the timeframe you are looking at for us to send the estimate?

Response 1: As stated on the cover page and page 1 of the RFO, offers are due on Wednesday, January 24th by 5pm

EST.

Question 2: Are you planning to replace the existing controller (automation panel with processor and fire sensors, etc.) or do you intend to keep the old one?

Response 2:

Scope of Work: The Project’s scope of work is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following:

1. Demolition and dispose existing AHU units in room 110A as specified in the contract documents, including all plumbing, HVAC piping and fittings, electrical and HVAC control associated with existing units.

2. Provide and install new AHU units per contract requirements. Work includes installation of equipment, plumbing, hydronic piping, electrical, and fire detection systems.

3. Integrate new units’ control with the facility BACnet system.

The Scope indicates new equipment which includes the new controller and new fire detection system. The scope also states to integrate new unit’s control (new controller, sensors, actuators, etc.) with the facility BACnet system which is the Schneider BACnet system recently installed.

Also, in the drawings on drawing M245 there is a controls diagram with sheet notes that need to be followed in addition to the Scope and Specifications.
