Questions and Answers

D10 Terminal Plumbing Replacement

697DCK-22-R-00363

Question 1. Do we need to replace the entire sanitary main line, just the clean-outs, or both?

Answer: Sanitary main lines are not part of the scope. Only the sanitary lines behind the wall in each restroom along with cleans-outs and floor drains (including the branch line). The new work is generally clouded in the drawings of each disciple. Clean-outs on the west side exterior of the buildings are also included in the scope.

Question 2. The plans state to remove and replace the existing Johnson Controls Metasys System. Will

Schneider Electric still be the controls vendor on this project or will it in fact be Johnson Controls?

Answer: The scope of the project indicates that the existing computer room units will be disconnected from the existing HVAC control system. Then, the new units will be reconnected to the existing HVAC control system in the building. There is no requirement for Schneider Electric to be involved. Please coordinate construction with the existing HVAC control system contractor mentioned below.

The existing HVAC controls contractor contact information is the following:

Question 3. Can the fire alarm scope be omitted due to the current rework taking place in the facilities, during the site walk it was noticed that most of the cabling is in works of being replaced along with the ceiling devices, If not omitted reworded to reflect the scope required due to the overlapping installation coverage?

Answer: Fire alarm scope in this project is very minimal and it will not be adjusted at this moment.

Adjustment to that portion of the scope will be provided via change order if the need arises due to the progress of the other project.

Question 4. If existing electrical pathways are large enough can they be reused to install new larger conductors to the CRAC units from the existing panels?

Answer: Yes, if the conduits are in good condition and are large enough, then they can be reused to install new larger conductors. If there are conduits that are found to be in bad condition or are not large enough, then the contractor shall replace that conduit at no cost to the FAA.

Question 5. What are the working hours for room 103 & 131?

Answer: General work involving the removal of the Computer Room Units (CRUs) can be done during normal working hours. Any cut-over work or work that includes shutting off of electrical panels and chilled water main lines will have to be coordinated with the facility and this work will involve night work.

Question 6. Can the FAA review the finish schedules on sheets A008 and A009 to make sure the room numbers match the rooms listed on the plans?

Per the Finish Schedule the below rooms are to get tile floor and base: 116, 129, 217, 218, 348,349, E208 and E212

However the plan pages provided for RR’s have rooms listed as:

148, 149, 151, 152, 108, 215, E208 and E212

Answer: DFW-D-TRAC0-A008 & A009 are scheduled for drawings A005 through A007. These rooms are

116, 129, 217, 218, 348, 349, E208, E212. They are part of the TRACON side of the building and the ESU building.

In regards to the room numbers 108, 215, 148, 149, 151, and 152, these rooms are part of the base building side of the main building. The schedule for these rooms should match the schedules for the restrooms in the TRACON. This includes the vestibules #115 & 128.

Question 7. The notes call to calculate the arc flash for the CRAC unit. Can you confirm that there is an arc flash study for the existing panels?

Answer: There is an arc flash study for the existing panels.

Question 8. We do not believe there is a lighting control system currently in place for the affected areas, please verify that is correct.

Answer: There is no lighting control system currently in place.
